Are you really happy? Here’s how to achieve happiness
Happiness is something we all crave.
The fact is, happiness looks different for everyone so unfortunately we can’t provide you with a dead set formula that will guarantee to make you happy.
However, there are a number of things you can do that will kickstart your journey towards happiness.
Get to know who you are
If you were to imagine each of your values as friends around you, what would they look like? What is most important to you?
Simply thinking about your values will help you start to identify yourself and get to know yourself.
When these things are clear you can trust your decision making and know the path you take will be a happy one.
Be true to yourself
See above and accept it.
Be honest to yourself from the get go. Don’t try to kid yourself into taking on other’s values or emotions.
Be yourself and be true to it.
Count your blessings
Psychological tests have shown that simply noting 3 things you are grateful for each day improves happiness and satisfaction levels enormously.
Start now, what are you most grateful for? Tell yourself these things each morning and think of new ones all the time.
And when you know you are grateful, try to show it too.
Embrace spontaneity
Try something new. Meet someone new. Eat somewhere different. Live in the moment.
Work with your fears
We all have fears that have been engraved within us ever since our childhood.
When you repress and reject your fears, you will be granting more power and control to your fears.
Understanding your fears and allowing them will help you work through them.
Smile
Smiling really has been shown to increase happiness.
Shift a negative experience to a positive one with a simple smile.
